Rotaract Friendships forming
before the convention even begins!

Before the convention officially began Friday, we enjoyed a formal party at the Malay Village Thursday night! 

I was a bit nervous as the lone representative from my district, well aware I may be the lone representative from my country, the United States.  (By the end of the two day convention one other American Rotaractor had arrived, and we had drafted an Interactor into our ranks -- he will be joining Rotaract when he begins college soon.) 

The head of the Rotaract Host Committee, and Singapore DRR, Swan Chin, must have known that -- as he began introducing me to people the day arrived.   (Monday almost a week before the convention.)  By the time we had our first official activity I had met 20 Rotaractors, and had built strong friendships I hope to maintain with the three other girls above!  (Two from the philipines and one from Malaysia.)

Having friends to pal around with -- and support me during my turn as a panelist definitely added to the fun!
